Haven't had the time recently to post on this already fairly-neglected blog, but here's a bit written by my good friend, Mckenzie, on a band that I think is really great, is one of her all-time favorites and have accompanied us on many a car ride.
Meth Teeth, a pretty lo-fi/noise-rock band formed by Mattey Hubele (guitar and vocals), is a group hailing from Portland, Oregon. The sound of Meth Teeth revels in heavy guitar riffs with an upbeat somewhat folk like rhythm mixed with lots of tambourine and the occasional snare. The vocals are raspy, distorted, and frankly hard to understand, which creates another trait that makes Meth Teeth unique. Some great melancholy tracks from Meth Teeth's first full-length album "Everything Went Wrong" include "World Is Going To End Soon" and "My Heart's Heart". These are only a few of the songs which truly embody the grab bag of emotions which can be gathered from this multi-faceted team. My personal favorite songs from both Meth Teeth's full length album and their 7" "Bus Rides" are titled "Unemployment Forever". Although the band reportedly recently called it quits, Meth Teeth is still a great listen for a rainy day in the city or a road-trip to the countryside.
